Laura & Greg: Timeless nuptials in a historic Tudor hall

As the crisp and cosy days of autumn re-enter our peripherals, we return to the 2024 wedding of Laura and Greg. On a favourable October day, the pair wed at an intimate ceremony at Seckford Hall, a fairytale Tudor house in rural Suffolk.

The day began with laughter and smiles at this 16th-century country house, as Laura and Greg both prepared for their ceremony.

Makeup artist Ellen Elizabeth, and hairstylist Darcy, set about creating Laura's dream bridal look as she chatted with her loved ones - the excitement murmuring throughout the room. The look was topped off with a tiara of pearls nestled amongst Laura's curls: the perfect finishing touch for a radiant bride.

Meanwhile, Greg was fastening his cuffs and neatening his tie - the final touches to his sharp, slate-toned suit - in a different room, eagerly anticipating the moments ahead.

Later that morning, the pair came together amongst friends and family in The Great Hall - a magnificent setting for an intimate wedding, with its oak panelling and open fireplace. Fairy lights twinkled from the Tudor beams, adding to the enchanting atmosphere as the couple delivered their heartfelt vows.

Following the ceremony, the happy couple - now husband and wife - made their way to the outdoor bandstand, along with their loved ones, for a grand recessional.

Seckford Hall's Victorian-style bandstand sits amongst verdant lawns and manicured gardens. Even with minimal decor, it worked perfectly as an elegant backdrop for Laura and Greg's confetti-sprinkled 'dip'.

The palette for the florals - delivered by local florist The Garden Shed - was a blend of dusky pinks, blues and lilacs, with hints of peach and ivory present throughout the displays.

Even their adorable pup came dressed for the occasion, with a collar of flowers to match the theme!

Before the wedding party returned to the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast, I captured Laura and Greg amongst the captivating vistas of the centuries-old wedding venue.

The creeping ivy, intricate brickwork and historic ironmongery spotted across the exterior of the Tudor house made for a timeless backdrop - one that could belong in a storybook.

Ready to return to their guests, Laura and Greg spent the rest of this balmy autumn day in wedded bliss, enjoying music performed by a string quartet, hearing emotional speeches from loved ones, and dancing the night away at their reception in the garden pavilion.

35mm Analogue Film Wedding Photography

Laura and Greg's gallery would not have been complete without some shots captured on 35mm film. Why? Film naturally produces a softer, more romantic look with rich tones, subtle grain and depth that captures emotion in an authentic and nostalgic way - much the images in old family photo albums.

Each frame is one-of-a-kind - unlike digital images, which can be duplicated and retouched endlessly - bringing an even more personal quality to your most unforgettable moments.

Below, you will find a selection of colour and black and white film photographs from Laura and Greg's wedding day - and if you would like to know more about film photography options for your wedding, please don't hesitate to ask me.

I wish Laura and Greg many years of happiness following this magical day, which I had the great privilege of capturing!
