Hannah & Dom: Love & laughter in the Norfolk countryside

Over the last half-decade, intimate weddings have become increasingly popular, but this couple bucked the trend with a guest list of 120 - and my, did it make for an electrifying atmosphere!

Friends and family gathered at the iconic Voewood wedding venue in High Kelling near Holt, Norfolk - a mansion house built in the early twentieth century in the Arts and Crafts style (a design style which centres on the use of natural, locally sourced materials and handcrafted details).
A distinct venue, Voewood is known for its "rock n' roll" aesthetic thanks to its private cellar nightclub, and its use as a literary and music festival venue. As such, weddings here are often quirky, rule-defying, and individual - a few words that could describe Hannah and Dom's special day.

The couple's wedding day began with a relaxed morning - Hannah and her bridal party primped and preened in matching pink satin pyjamas, opting for doing their own hair and makeup.
The vibe was "BFF sleepover", complete with Champagne, hair rollers, and sitting cross-legged in front of a full length mirror to apply makeup!

A peek out the window saw guests arriving in the dozens, a pop-up horse cart bar awaiting them with refreshments.

Meanwhile, Dom and his groomsmen, having donned their navy suits and crisp, white shirts, were relaxing together in a reception room, eagerly anticipating the call to head over to the ceremony.

Hannah and Dom's ceremony took place outside on the manicured lawn at Voewood. The afternoon sun made the all-white chairs almost glow in their neat rows, as the guests gradually filtered in from the gravel forecourt.

Hannah beamed as she glided down the aisle, her bouquet - supplied by Norfolk Flower Farm - bringing a splash of colour to her all-white dress and veil, not to mention her pink platform sandals, which peeped into view with each step.

The pair's heartwarming ceremony was filled with beautiful words, giggles and happy tears, and after their first kiss as a married couple, Hannah, Dom and their guests gathered for a confetti shot with the famous facade of Voewood house as the backdrop.

With the guests enjoying drinks and chatter in the warm sunshine, I pulled away the bride and groom for some snaps with their loved ones...

...And a few more on their own, taking full advantage of the many elegant and enchanting spaces that Voewood has to offer.

The couple chose family-style seating for their wedding breakfast, which took place in the main hall amidst exposed wooden beams and twinkling fairy lights. Amongst the table settings were simple, clear vases with a few choice flowers in each, and alternating pink and orange candlesticks.

Following the wedding breakfast, speeches and cake cutting, Hannah and Dom danced the night away with their guests, ending their beautiful day with music, laughter and the best energy.

35mm film wedding photography
Alongside the digital images that you see above, I also captured Hannah and Dom's wedding in 35mm film photography. This is a format that works especially well for weddings, as it provides a warm, rich and nostalgic effect that cannot be replicated with digital cameras.
Please scroll through the 35mm film images from Hannah and Dom's day below, and please do not hesitate to enquire about this format when contacting me about your wedding or event.
